[left]Dear Friends,
Did you ever see the joy on someone’s face when you gave them a gift that they really wanted and looked forward to getting? There are no words to describe the pleasure that the receiver of such a gift feels when he unwraps the long awaited gift and finally holds it in his hands.
Well, we had the honor and pleasure of giving our Father In Heaven a tremendous gift that he has been longing to receive for so many years.
We, his children, joined together for a few weeks to do an act of Chesed for one of the special souls that He placed here on Earth. By voting daily for Meir Efraim Turner and encouraging others to vote, too, we created a huge circle of international Ba’alei Chesed from across the entire spectrum of humanity whose sole desire was to make this special boy happy. For those few weeks, there was no difference in how we dress, what language we talk, where we pray, or what we do. It was an unprecedented act of Brotherhood that had the Angels in Heaven singing in praise.
With all of the fighting, pettiness, and arguing between brothers in the world today, is there any greater gift that we could have given to Our Father In Heaven? Can any gift make Him happier than seeing His children join together as one—for weeks on end--to help someone that most of them do not even know?
And here on Earth, every vote, every email, every call, and every ‘hi’ in the street was a tremendous Mitzvah that made Meir Efraim feel like a millionaire! There is no way to describe the excitement that he felt knowing that so many people care about him. May all of you be blessed for bringing Meir Efraim such joy.
As for the wheelchair accessible vans, we truly hope that whoever of the 1400 disabled contestants won them will be able to use it in good health and happiness. They certainly need it as much as we do.
And we believe that even though our Father In Heaven did not grant it to us through this contest, He will certainly find another way to give us whatever we need, including an accessible vehicle. For He certainly remembers how many disabled people benefited for years from our old wheelchair van.
Together, we gave Him a great gift. May He grant each and every one of us the gift of Life, Health, and Happiness.
