I recently heard a story attributed to the Beis Ephraim (Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margulies) who also had a business selling certain goods. He also was known to preach the Mishna in Brachos 9:3 "One recites a blessing for the bad that befalls him just as he does for the good." and that one should if anything dance when making such a Bracha.

One day a ship carrying a significant amount of his goods sunk and his Talmidim were tasked with breaking the bad news to him. They asked him, "Rebbi, didn't you teach us something about blessing something that's bad? He responded with quoting the above Mishna. His Talmidim pressed him further, "tell us the full meaning," and he responded that one should dance in that situation. They responded, "so dance! Your ship just sunk." He fainted.
